Snipkey Privacy Policy
Effective 7 October 2026 · applies to the Snipkey Chrome extension
In short: your snippets stay on your computer. Snipkey does not collect, sell or share what you type. The only thing that ever leaves your browser is a payment-status check with ExtensionPay.
What Snipkey stores, and where
| Data | Where it is kept | Sent anywhere? |
|---|---|---|
| Your snippets (trigger, name, text) | Your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local) on this computer | No |
| Settings (on/off switch) | Same local storage | No |
| Whether you bought Pro | Same local storage, plus ExtensionPay's records | Yes — see below |
What Snipkey reads on web pages
To notice a trigger, Snipkey looks at the few characters just before your caret in the text field you are typing in, at the moment you type. It does not read password fields, does not record keystrokes, does not keep or send page content, and has no analytics or tracking of any kind.
Payments (ExtensionPay)
Snipkey Pro is sold through ExtensionPay, with card payments processed by Stripe. When you buy Pro or restore a purchase, ExtensionPay receives a random identifier for your installation and the email you enter at checkout. Snipkey asks ExtensionPay whether that identifier has paid. Snipkey never sees your card details. ExtensionPay's and Stripe's own terms apply to that data (extensionpay.com, stripe.com/privacy).
Backups
If you export your snippets (Pro), the file is saved where you choose on your computer. Snipkey does not upload it.
Deleting your data
Delete snippets in the Snipkey options page, or remove the extension: Chrome then erases all of its local storage.
Children
Snipkey is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13.
